Rick Wurster is the Chief Executive Officer of Charles Schwab Investment Advisory, Inc. (“CSIA”), is chair of the firm’s Management Committee and its Asset Management Committee, and serves as a member of the Portfolio Management Team for the Windhaven Strategies.
Previously, Rick spent 10 years at Wellington Management where he was the portfolio manager of several products that leveraged Rick’s expertise in fundamental, quantitative, and technical analysis across global asset classes as well as his expertise in portfolio construction and risk management. Rick also has broader leadership responsibilities and spent time as a leader of the asset allocation business, served on the firm’s technology leadership committee and was a member of Wellington’s equity review group which provides oversight and guidance for the firm’s equity strategies.
Prior to Wellington, he worked at McKinsey & Company where he was a leader of the asset management practice and conducted various investment, strategic, and operational projects for the senior management of asset managers, institutional investors, private equity firms, and insurance companies. He was a frequent speaker at asset management conferences.
Rick earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Villanova University and has an MBA degree from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) and Chartered Market Technician ® (CMT) designations.
